Your company does not need another AI tool. It needs fewer.

Matthew Senyonyi1 min read

Five chatbots, three pilots and nobody in charge. AI clutter costs more than the licences, and the way out starts with taking things away.

Most companies do not have an AI problem. They have an AI clutter problem.

Marketing pays for one chatbot, sales tries another, and finance switches on the assistant that came free with the accounting software. Nobody planned it, and nobody can say what it is all for.

What clutter looks like

  • Licences nobody opens. Bought for everyone, used by a few.
  • Shadow AI. Company data in private accounts.
  • Pilots that never end. Still running, still without an owner.

Clutter is not a sign that you adopted AI. It is a sign that nobody decided how.

How to clear it up

  1. Make a list. Every tool, every licence, every pilot.
  2. Name one owner. One person decides what stays.
  3. Cut what nobody uses. Not opened in a month? Cancel it.
  4. Pick by process, not by product. Start from one task that annoys the team, then choose the tool.

The goal is not the most AI. It is a few tools that people trust and use every day.
